Sunday Scoop & a Sale!

I am linking up today with Teaching Trio for their Sunday Scoop, for just a quick look at what's happening. Check out the linky to see what everyone else is up to today, after you read mine of course...lol.

First up 3 things I have to do...

1-I have my basic outline for the entire year week by week already set up, but I need to sit down and fill in the details on my lesson plans and make sure I have all of my materials ready to go..ie printed and laminated.  I think almost all of you can relate and do some form of planning on Sunday...lol. 

2-I need to head over to school and spend about an hour putting things away and putting out my new centers for this coming week in my classroom.  I usually do this on Friday before I leave, however with the holiday I rushed out of there last Wednesday to get to the train station to pick up my oldest son, who came home from college for the Thanksgiving holiday. (Total run on sentence I know...lol)

3-With all of our family celebrations over the past several days I have gotten a little behind on my laundry and dishes...the story of my life it seems...I need to get those tackled so I can enjoy the rest of the day.

Next 2 things I hope to do...

1-I usually put my Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but we had a few extra celebrations to attend this year and I haven't had a chance to get to it yet.  So I hope to do it this afternoon while all the boys are hanging around and can help.

2-I ate WAY too much for the holiday.  I hope to find 30 min to jump on the treadmill and do a couple of miles. I know I will feel so much better afterward.

The thing I am happy to do...

We are heading out this evening for a dinner with all our boys before our oldest heads back to college in the morning.  We are going to one of our favorite restaurants...P.F.Changs.  I can already taste those lettuce wraps...yum, yum!

Sunday Scoop

Today I am linking up with The Teaching Trio for Sunday Scoop.  A quick fun linky to just check in with what is happening.

3 Things I have to do…

I have seen a recurring theme between myself and so many other bloggers that Sunday is laundry today, and today is no exception.  I will admit that since my oldest left for college it has been less to do, but it is still not my favorite thing.

Friday was a major craftivity day in class.  We had races to get to…so the minute the kiddos were delivered to the bus I grabbed my bags, yes plural I may have a bag problem, and I hit the road.  That means there are glitter spider webs and word family spiders that were drying laying out on all of my tables.  Plus the craft supplies are all still out on my kidney table.  So I have to run over, well I will probably drive it is a little too far to run, and straighten things up.  I have all of my upcoming centers in my bins ready to go I just need to switch them out .  I usually don’t like to leave Friday unless I am ready to go for Monday, but sometimes it just can’t be helped.

I have been committed to eating healthier.  Well when I get home during the week I am so tired that if I am not prepared I will end up eating something that I really shouldn’t.  So I need to get my menu planned and printed for the week that way I can keep on track.

2 Things I hope to do…

I want to find at least 45 minutes to spend on the treadmill.  I always feel so much better after getting a little exercise.  Even if I am tired I know I will feel less tired if I get moving.  It doesn’t make sense I know.

In total contrast and contradiction to the walking,  I also hope to take a nap…lol.  It has been a long and busy weekend and I just feel like if I could squeeze in even a 30 minute power nap I could get through my above items so much easier.

 

The Thing I am Happy to do…

MY oldest is home for the weekend to visit…really he has an orthodontist appoint in the morning, but I can think he came home just to see me right.  Anywho, we are having family dinner night with EVERYONE.  That means aunts, uncles, grandma, grandpa, great-grandma, cousins…you get the picture.  We are a pretty close family.  I am not the only one excited that Beau is home for a visit.  They all wanted to say hi and see how college was going.  So we will have a fun evening of food and fellowship.

Sunday Scoop

Today I am joining a fun new linky with the girls over at Teaching Trio.  It is just a quick snippet of the things we have to do, hope to do and are happy to do.  Why not join the fun and link up too!  

Well the countdown is on.  My son will officially move into the dorms at UC Irvine 2 weeks from today.  I cannot believe I am this old…Oh My!  All kidding aside I am really going to miss him, but I am excited for him to start this new journey in his life.  We have to go get the last few things he will need for his dorm room. I don’t want to be stressed at the last minute so we are going to finish today!

I teach K, so what else would I need to do on a Sunday afternoon.  Don’t you all have to laminate and cut??  Lol,  I know I should be ready, but as I surf the internet on Saturday afternoons, my form of relaxation, I always seem to find some other activity that I just have to do this week....

Between my 3 teenage boys and my husband the laundry is never done!!  I do a load every morning during the week, or else I would spend the entire weekend in the laundry room. However, Sunday is for washing all the sheets and towels.  Fun, fun, fun…said no one ever! I am still waiting on my fairy god mother to show up to take over, but it hasn’t happened yet so in the meantime I get to do it.

I hope to get a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino when we are out shopping today.  Have I mentioned before that I might be addicted to Starbucks…well I love the PSL, but it was 104 here yesterday and it is supposed to be 102 today so I cannot get into a Latte.  BUT…last week when I was in my favorite place, where they know me by name, shameful I know, my favorite barista Kristin mentioned that you can get the Pumpkin Spice in a non-fat Frappuccino.  Did you know this??  It was like the angels were singing…haha.  Now I can enjoy my favorite flavor and be cool in this sizzling heat.  It is mid-September people, enough with the 100 degree weather already.

I hope to get a pedicure this week.  I know this seems a bit frivolous…however with a house full of boys I need a little me time every once in a while.  Truth be told I haven’t had one since I went to I Teach K this summer.  I had gel polish done at that time so it would last.  Well I am embarrassed to say that it is now grown half off my toes.  EEWW!  I know, I know. I have clipped my nails so they are not a mile long, but this stuff doesn’t come off with nail polish remover.  I have to go in and they take it off with the electric nail file. My youngest asked me the other night…”What did you do to your toes??”  Well nothing…that is the problem…

The thing I am happy to do…spending the day with the boys.  It will only be my youngest and oldest.  The middle son is not into the whole shopping thing.  Most boys aren’t.  My youngest is only going because he figures if he goes he will get something, even though we are technically shopping for big brother.  What can I say…he is the baby and he is probably right.
